When the product helps

When starting up a new WWTP, after a shock from a toxic substance or an aeration failure, when nitrification is lost, with sludge bulking, with grease deposits in sumps and with seasonal peaks in organic load.

When it won't help

When the cause is technical: lack of oxygen, hydraulic overload, mixing failure or an incorrect sludge age. These need to be fixed first, otherwise the added biomass will not survive.

Nitrification has an order

Nitrifying bacteria only start working once most of the organic pollution has been removed, and they are sensitive to toxic substances. With chemical loads, we therefore first apply a culture for organic matter and add nitrifying culture afterwards.

How we proceed

We need the flow, aeration tank volume, type of technology and influent and effluent analyses (BOD₅, COD, NH₄-N, SS, pH, temperature). We propose a product, initial and maintenance dosing, and agree in advance on the indicators we will use to evaluate the result.
